Something I have noticed about human nature is that we have a hard time being content in the season of life we find ourselves. In fact, we just find it hard to be content. If our hair is curly we straighten it. If we have skin that is too white we try to get a tan. If our eyes are blue we wear green contacts. If someone is short, they want to be tall.
In Ecclesiastes 3:1 we read “For everything there is a season, a time for every activity under heaven.”
I am learning in my season that being content in the activity I find myself is a secret to embracing the season I’m in. If I don’t find that contentedness then stress begins to creep in and I find myself running to catch up instead of being lead by God’s hand of direction.
I used to pray for something to do and now I book forward to a quiet day at home! So, my contentedness isn’t found in what is going on around me but in the peace of knowing I am following God’s direction and not my own.
I love what Jesus said in Matthew 6:34 “So don’t worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today’s trouble is enough for today.”
Sometimes we can only think about the next moment without being stressed and that’s ok. Moment by moment and day by day is all He asks of us. The rest is in His Hand!
Praying your week and mine is full of being content in Him!
